On May 14, 2025, Juan C. Delgado, President of OC ABOTA, Yoshi Kubota, Past President, and Jennifer Leeper, National Board Representative, had the honor of speaking at the Orange County Superior Court’s Jury Appreciation Week. This meaningful, weeklong program is hosted by the Court to recognize and thank jurors for their time, service, and commitment to our democracy and the judicial process.
OC ABOTA’s involvement in this impactful event began thanks to the initiative of Yoshi Kubota. It is a collaboration with the ABOTA Foundation, who provides grants to put it on not only in Orange County, but across the country by ABOTA Chapters.
The OC ABOTA representatives were joined by Assistant Presiding Judge Sheila Hanson, Judge Marc Kelly—a long-time supporter of OC ABOTA and lead organizer of the program—Justice Kathleen O’Leary, Presiding Justice of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division Three, and Presiding Judge Maria Hernandez of the Orange County Superior Court.
We’re proud to support the Court’s efforts in honoring the vital role jurors play in our justice system.
