I am honored to be installed as the 2026 Orange County ABOTA Chapter President this evening. It is undoubtedly a privilege to serve our organization, but for me it is also a call to service. A call I not only take very seriously, but that I approach with integrity, innovation and a deep belief in the tenets of what ABOTA stands for: Preservation of the 7th Amendment; Right to Trial by Jury, the Rule of Law and the Independence of our Judiciary.

I write this with a bit of sadness in that this will be my last President’s Message. Serving as President of the Orange County ABOTA Chapter in 2025 has been one of the highlights, if not the highlight, of my 39-year legal career. While it has been a lot of work and hard work, it has not only been fun, but very personally rewarding.

Over the past three months, the Orange County Chapter has been a very active ABOTA chapter, one of those most active in the country.
